In the two years since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita struck the Gulf Coast, causing substantial damage to Louisiana from border to border, much progress has been made in rebuilding the state. ProgressInLouisiana.org is Louisiana’s official Virtual Media Center, which will provide journalists covering Louisiana’s recovery and the second anniversaries of these events with information, resources and news alerts over the months of August and September 2007. Local and state government agencies are among the organizations contributing information and resources to ProgressInLouisiana.org, as are nonprofits and other entities participating in the recovery.
