		State of Louisiana Launches ProgressInLouisiana.org in Advance of Second Anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita Web site to serve as primary portal for reporters covering Progress of Louisiana's Recovery BATON ROUGE, La. (August 21, 2007) -- In anticipation of the second anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the state of Louisiana launched a Virtual Media Center, www.ProgressInLouisiana.org, today to serve as a portal for journalists covering the state and its recovery from the first and third most expensive natural disasters in the nation's history. Operating as the central online resource for anniversary-related news, the Web site will be continuously updated with recovery statistics, press releases, story ideas, contact information and more throughout the months of August and September. Members of the press can use the site to: Register to receive news alerts and press releases Identify spokespeople for issues related to recovery See a calendar of official events around the state in the months of August and September Download documents and reports from governmental agencies, community groups and other organizations Local and state government agencies are among the organizations contributing information and resources to the Virtual Media Center, as are nonprofits and other entities participating in the recovery.
